Vegan Lentil “Sloppy Joe” Crescents
I’ve been wanting to do something different with lentils lately, and came across an idea for a lentil Sloppy Joe. I threw together some lentils and spices and voila!
* I love the brand Immaculate Baking Company for cleaner pre-made products like crescent rolls, cinnamon rolls and cookies. They don’t use any hydrogenated oils or gmos and they taste great!
1 lb Lentils
12 oz Tomato Sauce of your choice
4 Cups Water
1|2 Cup Sweet Peppers diced
1 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbs Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 Tbs Maple Syrup
3 Garlic cloves
1 Tsp Onion Powder
1 Tsp Chili Powder
Heat olive oil in saute pan, add garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until soft and fragrant. Add peppers and cook another minute. Add water, lentils, and spices, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes. Add tomato sauce and maple syrup and simmer for another 10 minutes. Serve on rolls or bread or crescent rolls.
