Chaffle & Vegan Chaffle

Can we talk Chaffles for a moment? How easy and quick these are to make, and how yummy? A Chaffle is essentially a Cheese Waffle. A mixture of egg, shredded cheese, spices, baking powder. You can use them as a bread substitute as I did here with a sandwich. I have turkey, cucumber, Tower Garden Lettuce, and Hot Honey Drizzle. I would love to try to make these with vegan cheese, and a chia egg and see how they come out. I used pasture-raised eggs here. Have you ever tried a Chaffles?

This was the simple recipe I used which makes 2 Mini Chaffles from a mini Waffle Maker. They are a normal size waffle though.

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
1 tbs grated Parmesan, Romano or Asiago cheese
1 egg
1/4 tsp baking powder
Pinch of Dried basil and Parsley
1/4 tsp minced garlic

Mix together ingredients and use a 1/4 cup measuring cup to scoop into waffle maker. Cool about 4 minutes. If you like it extra crispy, put it in the Airfryer for an additional 2 minutes.

Vegan Chaffle

1/2 Cup Vegan Shredded Cheese
1 TBS Chia Seeds
1/4 TSP Baking Powder
1/4 TSP of Each: Garlic Powder, Smoked Paprika, Parsley, Basil
1 TBS Coconut Flour
About 5 TBS Water

Soak Chia Seeds in 3 TBS water for 5 minutes. Mix all ingredients together. Spoon into a 1/4 cup measuring cup, and transfer to waffle maker. Cool for about 4-5 minutes to your desired crispiness.
